CT & WC are proud to once again be hosting the Cape Town International Jazz Festival (CTIJF), now in its 14th year! The annual festival is ranked as the 4th best in the world by Melodytrip, one of the leading music festival sites, this places it ahead of world renowned jazz festivals such as the Montreaux Festival in Switzerland and the North Sea Jazz Festival in Holland.
It is known as Africa's Grandest Gathering, at it could well be...bringing in a large number of visitors and international artists of the highest calibre, the CTIJF is a another reason why Cape Town and the Western Cape could be one of the top destinations in South Africa, if not Africa.
Past well known acts include; Lauren Hill, Earth Wind and Fire, Sérgio Mendes and Hugh Masekela to name but a few. The CTIJF has grown over the years and now boasts 40 international and African artists on 5 stages over the 2 days. This year's star studded line-up includes Jill Scott from the USA, Brand New Heavies from the UK as well as a South African favourite; Jimmy Dludlu.
The CTIJF will be taking place on the 5th and 6th of April at the CTICC and tickets are going fast, book through Computicket to avoid disappointment.
As a prelude to the event, the CTIJF hosts, a very popular, free concert on Greenmarket Square later this evening (3 April). The line up includes international headliners as well as local greats; Brand New Heavies, Jimmy Dludlu, Jimmy Nevis, Candice Thornton and St Joseph’s Marist’s School Band.
