Hopefully everyone had an enjoyable Easter weekend and are back at work eager and ready for a new month, and here at Wesgro, a new financial year. Here are the events for the upcoming week, lots for one to do with the kids during the school holidays...
The 1st Breathe Sunshine African Music Conference will be taking place at the Cape Town City Hall from the 1st to the 2nd of April. The conference aims to facilitate the knowledge/skills sharing in order to help local artists to the global arena. Big name artists such as Jack Parow, Ready D and Rolling Stone Magazine will be on hand to give advice.
The Klein Karoo Nasionale Kunstefees(KKNK), a national arts festival, is taking place in Oudtshoorn from 29 March up until 6 April. In its 19th year, this festival celebrates diversity and culture through theatre, music and the visual arts.
The Cape Town International Jazz Festival is back for its annual stint, bringing along with it visitors from far and wide. On Wednesday, April 3, the free community concert will be taking place on Greenmarket Square. This year's acts are UK acid-jazz group the Brand New Heavies, SA's great Jimmy Dludlu, Jimmy Nevis, Candice Thornton and the St Joseph’s Maritzs School band.
April 5 and 6 are the actual days of the event at the CTICC, the headlining act for this year is Jill Scott.
The South African Association for the Conference Industry will be hosting a workshop at the Taj Hotel on Thursday, 4 April. Leading industry experts will informing you on how to bring your event to its full potential.
The annual SA Navy Festival will be taking place from 5-7 April in Simons town. There will be naval displays, flea markets, a dog show and activities for the kids. Bring the family down and enjoy a viewing of the naval ships and submarines.
The final in the series of picnic concerts at the Taal Monument in Paarl, Emo Adams will be performing to an excited crowd on Saturday, April 6.
The Wesbank Primary School will be hosting the Kunstefees Half Marathon on Saturday 6 April in Oudtshoorn.
The 2nd annual Family Adventure Day will be taking place at Simonsvlei Wine Estate on Saturday, April 6. The day will start with a mountain bike race and trail run and end with food, wine and live music.
Twice a year the artists of Baardskeerderbos open their homes and studios to the public.The Baardskeerderbos Art Route will be taking place on 6 and 7 April in Baardskeerderbos in the Overberg.
